Homemade Smooth Sweet Tea Recipe (Print Version)
Ingredients:
01 -
1 pinch baking soda.
02 -
2 cups boiling water.
03 -
6 tea bags.
04 -
¾ cup white sugar.
05 -
6 cups cool water.
Instructions:
01 -
Start by sprinkling a wee bit of baking soda into a large, heat-resistant glass pitcher.
02 -
Carefully pour the boiling water into the pitcher, then toss in the tea bags like you're making a very mini, very hot pool for them.
03 -
Put a lid on it, literally. Cover the pitcher and wait a good 15 minutes. Let those bags steep like they're sweating out the last of their tea-flavor goodness.
04 -
After the time's up, get rid of the tea bags—don't be sentimental, they've served their purpose—and stir in the sugar until it's all good and dissolved.
05 -
Add the cool water to the pitcher, then let it chill in the refrigerator for about 3 hours, or until it’s colder than your ex's heart.
