Easy No Bake Oat Chocolate Treat (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup unsalted butter.
02 - 1/2 cup packed brown sugar.
03 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract.
04 - 3 cups quick-cooking oats.
05 - 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips.
06 - 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter.

Instructions:

01 - Grease a 9-inch square pan. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, then blend in brown sugar and vanilla. Fold in the oats and stir for 2-3 minutes over low heat.
02 - Transfer half of the oat mixture into the pan, pressing evenly to form a firm base.
03 - In a separate saucepan, combine chocolate chips and peanut butter. Melt over low heat, stirring until smooth, and then pour over the oat base, smoothing out with a utensil.
04 - Crumble the remaining oat mixture on top of the chocolate layer, pressing down lightly.
05 - Cover the pan and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight. Before cutting into bars, allow the dessert to adjust to room temperature.
