Easy Loaded Fries Recipe (Print Version)
Ingredients:
01 -
32 ounces frozen french fries or 8 cups homemade french fries.
02 -
1 ½ cups cheddar cheese.
03 -
3 tablespoons bacon, cooked and crumbled, or real bacon bits.
04 -
1 cup brown gravy, homemade or packet, optional.
05 -
½ cup sour cream.
06 -
2 green onions, thinly sliced.
Instructions:
01 -
Preheat the oven to 425°F (or cook fries in the air fryer per directions in the notes).
02 -
Add the fries to a rimmed baking sheet and cook for 25-30 minutes or until extra crisp, stirring after 15 minutes.
03 -
Once the fries are crisp, remove them from the oven and turn the broiler on to 500°F.
04 -
Top the fries with cheddar and bacon and place back into the oven for 1-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
05 -
Top with green onions. If using, drizzle with brown gravy and top with sour cream. Serve immediately.
Notes:
01 -
Thicker fries may need more time, thinner fries may need a bit less time. Appliances can vary, but it is easy to check on the fries a couple of minutes early and add more time if needed.
02 -
To make frozen fries in the air fryer, cook several smaller batches. Cook each batch at 390°F for 10 to 14 minutes or until crisp. Once ready to serve, add all fries to the air fryer basket, reheat for 2 to 3 minutes. Top with cheese and bacon and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
